August is winding down, and one of Upstate New York’s most colorful seasons is just ahead. At Skydive Saratoga, fall brings a new backdrop to the tandem experience, with changing forests, open skies, and the Lake George region stretching below during the climb to altitude.
See the Adirondacks Turn From Above

People travel through Saratoga and the Lake George region every fall to admire the foliage from roads, trails, and overlooks. A tandem skydive changes the perspective completely. From the airplane, the landscape opens into a broad patchwork of orange, gold, red, and green across the Adirondacks. Then the door opens, and sightseeing becomes the kind of story you will still be telling long after the leaves are gone.
Your experience begins with a briefing from your tandem instructor before you gear up and board the aircraft. The climb takes about 20 minutes over the Lake George area, giving you time to watch the fall scenery unfold below. At around 10,000 feet, you will step into roughly 30 seconds of freefall. When the parachute opens, the pace shifts again for a five-to-six-minute canopy ride with wide Adirondack views.
As the only dropzone in the Adirondack Mountains, Skydive Saratoga gives fall adventurers a view they will not find along a scenic drive. Bring someone who has been waiting for the right moment, make a day of it in Gansevoort, and let this be the season you finally jump.

Catch the Season While It Lasts
Foliage season moves quickly, and the view changes every week. If skydiving has been sitting on your “someday” list, this is a good time to turn it into a date on the calendar. Reserve your tandem, invite the person you want beside you on the drive to Gansevoort, and come see autumn from above.
